Once described by British newspaper The Daily Telegraph as ‘a stylish player of faultless pedigree’, Frank Rijkaard will always be regarded as one of the greatest defensive midfielders in football history. A pivotal player for both Ajax and AC Milan, Rijakaard also made 73 appearances for the Netherlands. During his time at Ajax he won the Dutch league championship three times, the Dutch Cup three times and the 1986–87 season, Cup Winners' Cup. As an AC Milan player, Rijkaard won the European Cup and was part of the famed Dutch trio which included Marco van Basten and Frank Rijkaard.
